On the left is a Bantam head, On the right an Austn head. Note that the water spout on the Austin is shorter and detachable and closer to the center, while the Bantam's runs the whole length of the head. If a Bantam head is cracked, it is almost always along this spout. I have several which have been welded up. In the old days, they knew how to weld cast iron and they probably will do fine.
