Description The small intestine is about 20 ft long! The intestine is made up of the small and large intestine. The small intestine is about 20 ft long and is the place where most foods and water are absorbed. The large intestine is only 5 feet long. Water is absorbed here and bacterial action provides enzymes that digest some carbohydrates. Synthesis of Vitamin K and certain B vitamins occur in the large intestine. |
