Description Dendrobates pumilio - Found in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama, this "tree frog" spends most of its time on the ground, territories of which the males defend steadfastly. These tiny frogs possess a deadly poison which is used to arm hunting darts of local indians, hence its popular name. Their gaudy colors warn other predators away. Deforestation threatens the habitat of these interesting and scientifically important creatures. SIZE: 1.25"x1" |
