REAR FENDER TRIM
The swoopy rear fenders of the Bantam and their Art Deco trim are a signal
feature of the car for a lot of people, sort of like the goofy "fishtail"
muffler on a Velocette Thruxton. However, quite a few cars, mostly export
models, went out with full cutouts on the rear fenders. You will see this
treatment in pictures on the Polish and Swedish sites and the Argentine
Roadster in the Buy Sell section.

TRIM :
1938 Apparently some early cars had removable fender skirts and a single,
horizontal trim piece, but open cars had the 3 striper (below).
1938/39 "Two Main", that is most Bantams, had skirted fenders
had the three piece staggered stainless steel trim pieces.

On 1940/41 model cars after 10-4-39 which had "Three Main"
engine (from ENG# 65500) a four piece diagonal arrangement was used.

There is some evidence that some cars may have left the factory with
the fender skirts partially cut out and beaded. COMMENTS?
TRIM CLIPS: I believe suitable clips to hold the trim pieces on can be had
from vintage Ford parts dealers
