Boulevard Delivery 1938?
Boulevard Deliveries, the tiny jewel boxes that they were are one of the
most elegant evocations of the Bantam: a tiny delivery "truck"
which was used by a wide variety of businesses with small or light items:
dry cleaning, flowers, pharmacies, diaper services etc. Can't you see this
rolling up to your girl friend's house and a uniformed chauffer/delivery
person gets out, goes to the back of the truck and pulls out a bouquet of
flowers, a cold bottle of champagne or a box of chocolates?! Eat cher heart
out UPS. Easy to park, and even if in the forbidden zone, it's just too
cute to give a ticket to!...there just has to be one of these in the Wm
Spear Design fleet for delivery of enamels!
As with most of the Bantam variations, this is a very clever adaptation,
making a different product from the same parts...put your thumb over the
back and you can see the Roadster from which this is made. Also, this picture
shows the top on...they look even better with it off: like a dual cowl phaeton
in miniature. And note the classic "carriage lights" above the
rear fender.
Don't know who owns this car. Lynn James took the photo.
